This product is very good for beginners and intermediate photographers. Received the lens in record time and it fit on my Nikon D60. No issues.

I took the low-price bait and bought one for my new micro four-thirds Panasonic GF1 with 14-45mm kit lens (35mm equivalent of 28-90mm) hoping to get a usable wide angle adapter instead of spending over $1000 on the overpriced 7-14mm Panasonic lens. This adapter is certainly cheap, was delivered fast and seems nicely made for the price. It also has minimal vignetting even when setting the kit lens to 14mm and offers about a 1.5 times wider view. The reason for my one-star rating is that the image quality begins to degrade rapidly starting about half-way from the center in any direction and becomes a mushy blur near the edges. This degradation occurs for all focal lengths, even when zooming the kit lens to 45mm. This might be OK for prints of landscapes or cityscapes up to 3″ x 5″ or maybe 4″ x 6″ but will look like crap for anything larger, including any viewing on a monitor. If used to take a group photo the faces of those on the sides of the group will be unrecognizable! I don’t see how this can be a useful piece of kit unless the desire is to blur most of image in each of your photos. Essentially, the extra part of the wide-angle image that is added to the photo by using this adaptor has worse image quality than that shot from the cheapest disposable camera.

I got this for the macro but I love the wide angle so much. I got it today 03-26-10, I used it in Chicago for my photos of the Bean and they turned out great for me.

This lens adapter works great with my Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ5. It’s not a huge difference–not like a fish-eye or anything, but it does increase your field of view, for taking pictures of rooms, etc. The macro portion may come in handy sometimes, as well. The vignetting on my camera is very slight, and partly a function of my camera’s lens adapter setup. You certainly can’t beat it for the price, though! Also, New Harbor customer service is excellent. Ships fast, very responsive and accommodating.
